ABOUT ME
Michael Newton MA, MS, LASAC
I commonly work with adults who wish to enact change in their lives. I have experience working with clients from all socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. I specialize in addiction, issues surrounding spirituality and treatment for first responders. I feel that clients need help forgiving themselves for their behavior and releasing themselves from the burden of shame and guilt in order to move forward. I utilize a solutions-focused approach to help them actualize and implement change in their lives in order to see positive outcomes. I am well versed in evidence-based practices and coaching methods.
I also have about two decades of experience in law enforcement and have completed graduate work in theology and addiction counseling. I know first hand the struggles we go through in life and know from experience what works. I maintain a network of professionals to ensure that appropriate referrals are made for almost any situation.
"As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives." - Henry David Thoreau
